Perched above a crowded field
the crows await their turn
Hungrily they scream between
the branches as they burn
In a dream the ground began
to shift beneath my feet
From the gallows I was
laid to rest across the street
Once you were sleeping
now you’re awake
Down in your coffin
dead at the stake
You hear them laughing
cursing your name
And you turn, turn, turn, turn
turn in you grave
Buried ‘neath a nameless stone
stench of preachers rust
Closed by wicked words
Of ashes to ashes, dust to dust
Six feet above you
spreading their sin
Prophets of falsehood
wrapped in your skin
Gathering fools
like moths for the flame
And you turn, turn
turn, turn, turn
turn in your grave

OMG, late to the party but this is some of the best occult infused doom stoner tackle I've ever heard. Reference points include Sabbath (obvs), especially with the Ozzy-esque vocals but there's also the melodiousness of early Heep mixing with a more contemporary occult rock sound. It starts in the 70's and makes it to the present day. The riffs are huge but it's their way with a hook that elevates this from your average doom/stoner fare. Very wonderful indeed! egg-magoo
Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
Italian stoner powerhouse Tenebra has the heft of Sabbath and the hooks of Saint Vitus in their powerfully imposing tunes. Bandcamp New & Notable May 8, 2022
